Hi-Tek Electronics is a privately owned full-service electronics and mechanical assembly contract manufacturer with nearly 40 years of experience providing reliable, high-quality assembly and manufacturing services. Based in Salem, Oregon, we specialize in small-to-medium quantity projects, 1-10,000 boards, but can accommodate much higher runs.
We offer complete customized manufacturing and box-build solutions for industries such as automotive, aerospace, robotics, telecommunications, industrial, agriculture, intelligent transportation, security, medical sectors, and more. Our History
The company was founded in 1986 in Silverton, Oregon by Gary Foster and relocated to Salem, Oregon in 1989. In 2013 Hi-Tek acquired the assets and staff of Lytech Solutions, another electronics contract manufacturer which doubled the size of the business. This reunited many people who had worked together at Hi-Tek. Some of the first employees still work at Hi-Tek with several employees starting more than 30 years ago.
As needs change, so has Hi-Tek. Over the years it has moved locations to accommodate the growth and currently occupies more than 25,000 square feet. We have added machines, changed configurations, and added people and processes to increase the number of boards we can build and complete box build assemblies we can produce. The equipment has also had to evolve to handle the shrinking size of components, complexity of the boards, and environmental requirements.
Hi-Tek Electronics was most recently acquired by Dr. John Shearer at the end of 2024. With an extensive background in technology business management and product development, as well as marketing and sales, Shearer is ready to expand Hi-Tek’s roster of clients and take the company to the next level.
We continue to search for the best tools to provide the quality and speed our customers require. Most of the customers have been with Hi-Tek for more than a decade. We believe this speaks to the quality, delivery times, and pricing that we have reliably provided. We focus on listening to the customer, setting clear expectations, and then delivering as promised.
